Gotchiboard Alchemica Competition

Man i actually liked the lottery part. Could we maybe look at something like this:

LOTTO BRACKETS
1 PAYS 4000
2 PAYS 2500
3 PAYS 1500
4 PAYS 1000
5 PAYS 900
6 PAYS 800
7 PAYS 700
8 PAYS 600
9 PAYS 500
10 PAYS 400
11 – 15 PAYS 350
16 – 20 PAYS 300
21 – 30 PAYS 200
31 – 40 PAYS 100
41 – 50 PAYS 50
COSTS
19650

We could still have a lottery with 1st prize $200, 2nd prize $100 and 3rd prize $50. What are your thoughts on making the monthly lottery only accessible by minting the tickets using alchemica? We could maybe charge 50 Alpha and 25 KEK per ticket. Just some thoughts not to takeover

Maybe add an option “Something else”. @Umami deleted his poll from this thread because he copped some flak from the sigprop author in Discord. In the DAO discussion channel in discussion @Immaterial calls these two options the only viable options, I find that hard to believe.

Could you post the actual scope of this proposal? I tried looking for it but could not find it. IMO having this clearly stated would really help in completely understanding everything.

i believe these are the goals ( at least it was wat the dao voted on)
from the two polls on the dao forum it seems like both no raffle and longer tail would be what more appealing (more votes on the second poll with longer tail options, and 60% ppl both dont want raffle and do want raffle) , quincy made a suggestion for a payout structure that doesnt include all the available budget and still considers top50 payouts, for example… the argument that no other options are viable is getting thinner support it seems. The goals of the vote were have an entertaining and frenly competition for all to participate or observe, for me, this means there should be at least one option for any participant to win, hence i dont see it viable to not have the raffle and still accomplish these goals, unless there is some sort of participation badge (?) or an airdrop to anyone that builds installations in that period of time (?) or something else. from your comments on the dao forum topic and the payout structure the competition seems to aim at the highest spenders, or for ppl to organize and somehow spend together to promote the sinking of the current alchemica supply. In the current and future market conditions i dont personally see anyone with relevant size getting more exposure to the gotchiverse unless they can guarantee positive EV , meaning the alchemica they spend will be returned in some form to generate profit, so either they capture and secure a top20 place that gives them upfront ghst, or they will have in place a farm with significant size making the problem of the inflating supply , bigger, faster.

having a longer tail on the payouts will make prizes less appealing for topspenders, but more participants trying to score , its a decision we should make together and one that satisfy the most amount of participants

my suggestion would be instead of one competition, have 4 different ones, one for each week, with different metrics that enable u to gather the data you’re looking for, one or two that satisfy topspenders and allow them to spend the alchemica they have been stacking, one for multiple parcel land owners (snapshot taken somewhere between now and a couple of days from now) that takes into consideration the amount of lvl 5 aaltars one can create , or level 5 or 6 new harvesters in multiple lands with the same owner) (ideally delegated land parcels wouldnt be considered otherwise the vault wallet would win ) , one that targets new/recent owners of parcels to incentivise those who just got a parcel to build on it , etc

the possibilities are really endless with the goals u set on ur proposal, u should accept community feedback and work on it to satisfy the community
but like i said, with the current market conditions (its looking bearish midterm ) im not sure how many investors would be willing to ,like you said on some of your comments “spend 1000s of $” in installations , in a gamble to win the leaderboard prize , is it better to aim for that or to aim at having a significant amount of participants gathering crumbs to spend on multiple lands? im not sure which is the right answer , but your competition could give some data on it

I was able to find this but was seeking clarification. He had mentioned that my idea of buying tickets was out of scope for the project.

Hi all,

The final rules are now posted on gotchiverse-leaderboard

@coderdan I can’t edit the OP for some reason. Is there a way to replace the OP with these rules so people don’t get confused?

wasnt it ‘rules and guidelines’ ?
