Currently 2368 gotchis are owned by top50 addresses(47,36 gotchis on avg), and there are about 300 addresses with gotchis in double digits. I find it very unlikely to see this happen as this proposal would devalue their possession. As unfortunate as it is.
Man, you must be kidding! Iām happy for you guys, if you consider 300+ GHST (~$450) cheap means you are in a good financial situation. But for many people 100 GHST + all collaterals, fees, etc. is already a lot. The original price limited access to Aavegotchi game already, so what do you think itāll happen now that you need to spend at least 300 GHST (for a crappy low quality opened portal, letās not talk about an unopened or good one)?
Maybe Iām wrong, but I honestly think that many new potential players will be discouraged when they see the prices in the baazaar (Iām one of them, I wonāt pay those prices even if I am very interested in the game and Iāve been here from the beginning). This will probably slow down growth and drive prices down cause low quality portals/Aavegotchis donāt sell.
Like I said, I hope Iām wrong and I want this project to succeed, but getting adoption, especially in poorer countries, is an issue. The greed Iām seeing theses days just makes it worse IMO. Letās see the play to earn model they use, that could change things. Unless it is relatively easy for everyone to earn, considering the investment required, I doubt the game will be as successful as axie infinity for example (there you can get 3 axis for a 150 bucks and start earning 300-400 bucks a month easily).
Personally, Iām staying away from the game until I can purchase a portal at launch price, with at least a small chance of getting a rare Aavegotchi. In any case, Iām very disappointed with what Iāve seen in the community these days, seems like many people are more interested in speculation than in the game, so I might just move on. The cherry on top would be not getting the XP of the AGIP vote because I wasnāt able to get a portal at launch (and no, it had nothing to do with not being savvy or being late, the transaction just took too long to approve and I just saw how portals went from 10000 to 0). Letās see how it all ends.

Greed, thatās the word. Itās absolutely ridiculous that people were able to approve in shop before the portals came for sale. Thereās an address that approved in shop 5 minutes before the portals came for sale, and managed to get 5 transactions through, being able to buy 115 portals. I can only think that shop was launched prior to portals for this very reason, as it would give an edge to those that knew. Value of portals for this haunt are going to be mindboggling in the future, especially low ids(which is especially the portals those that approved in the shop were able to get, 2# sold for 60k GHST already).
I assume future haunts are going to be more fair, as those portals are less valuable from collectors point of view, but this was driven by greed. There was NOT an equal chance to get a portal. And those that wanted that one portal are basically ignored, because it would devalue portals from this haunt.
See that two proposal with same idea for first vision, to restore justice In Haunt 1.
In the first one whales get they profit, and it pass. In the second one whaels don`t have profit, and maybe slightly down the baazaar prices, and it go down.
Whales rule the game for only whales profit.
About what community we may talk?
Frendly words like gotchigang/frens and others only ensnare poor gamers(meat) for bring they money for the whaels(sharks).
For now moment each community member in unfair position to enother.
Yeah in that life we all stay in different positions/places. But if we whant to grow up a stronger community we must come together. Right now.
Or game can become a scum project with no regular gamers, only some profiteer stay a while, before the baazaar die.

what is happening with this proposal? I see that we voted yes, but what happens next? I also read on Discord that the developers said that this DAO voting doesnāt count and only they can propose changes so can someone lease explain and can we please have the correct information on one place regarding new haunt as well as all future DAO decisions if they count or not? thnx
Nothing will happen with the proposal. Funds raised in a blink of an eye, devs are probably still drunkā¦ Just go buy a gucci on bazaar, or wait for the next haunt or proper game release. I bought 1, and will keep it. Because world is getting crazier about blockchain networks, who knows what will happen in a few years and how far this game will develop.
I hear ya, its expensive in general in cryptoā¦ Even other games like Axie Infinity you need like $300 minimum to play pretty muchā¦
Thats the point thoughā¦ If I waited like 3 mins, they were stable at 600 ghst (im sure some went for less even). For me, that 1500 reflects a large chunck of my DeFi farming the past 4 monthsā¦ that definitely hurt, especially since Iāve had this in my focus for a month or so, but ya live and ya learn eh?
Agree that the game has legs to develop but must assure the devs arenāt drunk. Never been more sober! Weāre reading and enjoying the open brainstorming as Haunt 2 ideas develop.

Hopefully haunt 2 will feature much cheaper gotchis(Im talking 5$range) but with very common stats and looks so that its affordable but wonāt compete with current expensive gotchis for rarity farming.

Youāre free to create a signalling proposal that the next Haunt should cost 5 GHST per portal. Who knows, it may gain traction!
But also, please donāt underestimate the amount of work that went into developing, testing, auditing, and deploying the underlying smart contracts that run this game. We canāt just wave a wand and change crucial parameters that make an Aavegotchi what it is. Thereās no way to do what youāre talking about without drastically changing the contracts. We may make it look easy, but it really isnāt!!

I agree with coderdan here. I was pissed off at first and wanted āfairā rules, but now, Iām kind of understanding that I didnāt write the code, or put all the effort into making the dream reality, therefore I should take what I can get and enjoy the game, rather than demand the rules be skewed to give me, a newcomer, some advantage.
However, I woudnāt be opposed to seeing if some people got their submissions in before the 10,000th gotchi was sold, but were denied transactions, or if those people who think they got their orders in were actually just too slow.
Also, 50 gotchis per purchase is a little rich. But like I said, I didnāt vote early on that proposal so I got nothing.
Who cares about the vote because the more ghst you add the more voting power.
Itās like asking rich what we have to do for making the stuff fairā¦ IRRELEVANT & OLIGARCHY

My opinion is that if you have only a few participating to the game, then the game will get a bad reputation and less and less people will be interested by the project. Regarding the rarity, it is already there, you have haunt of the first generation, done. Please note as well that i already saw in a few days the value of haunt dicreasing ā¦ Now, what is next ?

Everybody entering in the game should be eligible to get 1 random aavegotchi (common one). We need to have volumes, we need people to talk about this, we need to create a fun atmosphere where everybody can enjoy the game at list. Acces to the rarity for the more perceverent / patient people.

Then, after this, second haunt generation should come.
Stop thinking only about money & rarity, and build a strong and big aavegotchi community happy about the game.

I honestly donāt really think that of the people here primarily motivated by money and a return, that they do not prioritize adoption and as larger/rapid a growth as possible. For the very reasons of money and a return.

I have low expectations and am ready to sell my GHST. See how it goes.
