There’s been a lot of discussion in Discord and Telegram channels about this topic. Let’s explore the possibilities here and confirm some options to be put to a Snapshot vote on Feb. 23.
With all things considered, how many portals should a user be allowed to buy in one transaction during the first Haunt portal drop?
Has the idea of a pre-sale been dismissed? I understand it adds complexity/work, but allowing a presale of ONE portal to those who
and hey, what else are you guys doing while waiting for the VRF?
In any event, I think the number should be low: 5? Maybe 10 if the aforementioned presale can happen. I’m thinking 1 would allow bot/alt activity to take over.
1 portal per transaction. 5 min delay between transactions for each wallet address. Maximum of 10 transactions per address per haunt. Or something like that.
I would be happy with 5 per transaction, or 10 at most (I am hoping to get @ least 1 Gotchi just to be in the original haunt). I still think either way it will be a quick sale, but at least it would be viewed more favourably for the project from outsiders. They will see how the team did the best to try and distribute as evenly as is possible at the moment.
What if there was a curve on portals the more you buy the more it costs?
Should be 5 max in one tx. and 5 max period. If some people buy up all the portals it won’t be very decentralized.

i think 5 max per txn with a 15 minute cool down, so all have a fair chance to receive a Portal, It would be pretty terrible if people that have been in since before the migration to not have a chance to get anything

Isn’t there already a KYC process require to “whitelist” wallets in order to interact with the curve? This whitelist would ensure one “wallet per human”, which might help with a staggered distribution?

this would at least force whales/bots/heavy users to create multiple wallets (maybe) slowing them down.

I like the 5 max per tx with a few minutes of cooldown for a total of 10 portal max per wallet. This way we could better distribute portals to more people and possibly slow down bots. Truthfully i would love to buy more but it would be better for the longevity of the game if it had the best possible dissemination allowing more players to enjoy the game.
Min 1 and Max 5 per transaction. Add 5 second delay after each transaction. I suggest to have limit on number or portals per wallet at least initial 30 days.
Max 5 portal per tx seems sensible to me. If the team is very confident that they have sufficient anti-bot/whale measures in place, up to 10 per tx might be okay (I’m currently aiming for around 10 myself).
The only problem i see with this is that not everyone was able to do the KYC process because of the countries that they live in but have been Gotchi Gang members for so time now.
I like the idea of doing a max of 50 portals per transaction. If the portals get sold too fast and the community wants more portals then we can do another haunt.
