Proposal for a New Haunt Immediately

I guess that’s the end of the conversation. Good day. What we discuss will be opened to perusal to the community. Let them decide if I make a good point that ACCESSBILITY is more important
or " i should for go for a walk’

Good day

Well you may be right.

I think that we have all of the time in the world for accessibility.

Whereas we only have 2 weeks for launch moon hype before 3.25 M GHST hits the market.

But people will vote on what they want to do, and will probably get another haunt real quick.

Marketing and ‘tulip value’ is very much a part of these projects, and it’s a part of the decision that this thread is discussing. – I mean, I saw a thread up there where someone was saying we should print 1 M Gotchis.

I can’t think of a worse thing to do right now, because of the fact that this would ruin the market, and the project is reliant on hype from high end gotchi sales, just as much as it is on long term accessibility and user base growth.

I think they are directly related.

Calm down guys. I didn’t get a chance to get my portal but there’s no point in getting angry. I think the team did their best to satisfy everyone, but it’s so hard to calibrate the number of portals per player! You never know in advance what the demand will be.

For my part it’s true that I’m very disappointed not to have my portal, but I keep a total confidence in the aavegotchi team and the game and I will wait for the price of portals on the baazaar to drop to 500.

It’s a game with real money and we don’t always win. I’ll do better next time!

This isn’t true. They literally had a list of their most active members.

I vote against doing a new haunt immediately.

The dilution into the market for the app is going to upset many people. The appeal to NFT’s is the exclusivity…

Look Fren, if you check out the comment you’re replying to above, the suggestion to go for a walk was directed iBo, not you.

I shared my thoughts.
You shared yours.

that’s what this forum is for.

Best to you .

This is a very narrow approach. There is already plenty of exclusivity inside the Gotchi system without excluding players.

For everyone complaining about missing out there are open portals for sale in the 200-500 GHST range right now on the BAAZARR.

This is the team some of you are complaining about not being fair.

How are players being excluded if they can purchase open portals for a Gotchi on BAAZARR for 200-400 GHST?
I purchased 15 portals for 200 a piece… but the best Gotchi (523 rarity) I have was actually a purchase I made for an open portal for 500 GHST in the BAAZARR
The only people who would benefit from another haunt would be resellers looking to make more profit.

Multiple portals are available in BAAZAR right now for under 500 GHST.

Nah, I mean they’re on sale in the bazaar for 500 - 600 GHST right now

Although disappointed, that I was not able to get the 3 portals I wanted, I am now even more bullish on the project. My consideration is this: the whole ecosystem would greatly benefit, if those who want to play and tried to get portals (those with failed transactions), would get the option to get their portals as soon as possible at a reasonable price. The market for wearables, consumables would pick up immediately. As I see it, price-evolution and liquidity are healthy. From a marketing perspective it would be ideal, if there were hundreds/thousands more of happy players spreading the word. So lets hope the prices on the secondary market continue dropping. A new market like this is surely a delicate fletchling. Anyway, most importantly: lets not forget the sorry souls of the thousands of aavegotchis that still have to remain in the nether eagerly awaiting the care and love of their new frens. I guess I’d buy at 150GHST/portal.

There were over 10k players at the portal mate. Most of the discord missed it. Forcing them onto the secondary market 2 minutes after a sale is gross. They have missed their chance to roll a gotchi for a fair price. That’s an accurate statement.

Artificially limiting the supply excessively is bad. Look at Axie Infinity, it has a large amount of Axies and it’s a very healthy economy. If you think that releasing gotchis will kill the game then the game was already bad. DUCY? It’s game design/theory and today they fucked up the launch. Simple.

All of this could’ve been prevented very easily by ensuring a fair distribution but they went with a “fair launch” so now nothing is distributed properly. They didn’t even get the gas-less transactions right.

Like this approach. All new haunts should take into account what the vesting schedules are to keep the game more accesible for a wider spectrum of players. That being said, i also would like to believe the team already has a list of launch date proposals that takes this into consideration. Which will be respectful to the wider financial impact of Haunts & has a longer term vision.

However the problem at hand seemingly calls for a shorter term solution. And shorter term solutions can be designed in respect to the wider vision.

We have a less than perfect experience in Haunt 1 & an immediate decline in total “matic holders”. (Let’s call these people “gamers” as they highly likely migrated to matic to play the game at some capacity. ) I think If we can convince gamers to stay with us, it will be in our benefit in the long run. This might mean a Haunt, and that haunt can (&should) be designed in respect to a longer term vision / strategy etc.

Otherwise yes you are right, the market will correct itself, but feels waiting for that kind of beats the point of DAO. As a community, should we be watching from sidelines while we know by simply removing a few frictions we can keep our community & the product we love stronger?

We do need another haunt for those active members in the community to get some Gotchis of their own. I think another 10k haunt is warranted eventually, but perhaps decrease total per transaction to 10 or 15. Or we can vote on that too I think. I rather there be more people that are able to play for the good of the ecosystem moving forward. I don’t know how 20k total supply will affect the worth of the Aavegotchis, but I think at least another 5k total in the second haunt would help a lot of new people out. I am not sure how to vote. Maybe let the dust settle before doing another haunt.

If they just release another sale it will repeat and they will sell out immediately causing some to grumble.

All members of the discord should be allowed to whitelist for a guaranteed Gotchi (tied or tiered based on Aagent level) and any remaining can go on sale. They can even do a brief period for sign-ups. Would have been great to have passively gathered addresses from all the parties & events they did. Then they could have made sure they hit everyone who followed them.

A fair launch means everyone should have a chance to receive a CHANCE to play the game. Here I only mention chance, which means people can choose to play it or not. Even a CEX like Binance doing a fairer job applying a new launchpad mechanism.

My proposal:

  1. Unconfirmed/failed portal purchase order in the first Haunt should get a chance to complete their payment, for the max amount of portal in the failed order. Doing so ensures MORE people actually PLAYING the game rather than SPECULATING.

  2. No need to launch 2nd Haunt immediately. It’s not a disaster. Calm down, people. The team has been working hard for this launch, and we all surely learned from this failure. The first proposal is for the GAMER. Also, it will bring portal demand/supply back to equilibrium, where gamers got their chance to try the game out (demand) and speculators have no incentives selling ridiculous high prices for a chance to play the game (supply).

  3. For future Haunt, let bring randomness in, like the way the game has been designed around it. I’m talking about Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF). Then, no more complaints, less speculation, more fun.

I wouldnt go as far as fucking up, seen completely malfunctioned launches. This was a successful launch with caveats. No need to overlook the fact that they launched a complete NFT marketplace alongside a completely unique NFT/Defi game in the same 10 minutes. Kudos where its due.
